hear/here (2025)

Hear / Here views postcards as tiny archives of words, lessons, and stories, tucked away for safekeeping. It intervenes for when a loved one can’t be there in the physical, but rather in words, in spirit, and in heart.

One of the postcards feature an excerpt from an interview with my father, that touches on his experience as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in the UAE. The other features an excerpt from a conversation between my father and his father, touching on his experience as an OFW in Oman. The conversations study the complexities and similarities of being a transient migrant - someone in-the-between.
