sa’tin-paguita (2025)
sa’tin-paguita (2025) is a reimagining of my family tree, exploring how memory, honour, and hope are passed down through generations. Rooted in the Tagalog phrase “sa’tin” (meaning “ours” or “our place”) and entwined with the sampaguita - the national flower of the Philippines, symbolising fidelity and hope - the work reflects on lineage as a breathing, living, and blooming form. A life, a story that is individual and collective is embodied in each bud and bloom - signalling how inheritance goes beyond bloodlines in shared resilience, growth, and becoming.
